The New Jersey literary journal Map Literary – based in William Paterson University – http://www.mapliterary.org/  – has nominated “Down the Shore”, a poem by MA in Creative Writing alumna Bridget Sprouls, for the Pushcart Prize 2017. http://www.pushcartprize.com. Bridget was a student in our inaugural MA programme in 2013.

Pushcart is a prestigious US award which has been honouring  work from  small presses and literary magazines across the US since 1976. This is the second poetic triumph this year for Bridget; earlier this year her poem, Scout, was published in the New Yorker magazine.

Meanwhile, Nora Shychuk, MA creative writing graduate in 2016, will have a story in the next issue of The Lonely Crowd,  a publication founded by the fiction editor of Wales Art Review  Dr John Lavin.  “Colours” will appear in the January issue of the journal – https://thelonelycrowd.org/
